Kahua
Kahua is a foundation, a base, a platform. The basis and the foundation of the group Kahua, is their shared love and commitment to traditional Hawaiian music. These young men came together rather recently, and have in a relatively short time together distinguished themselves in performing Hawaiian music, falsetto, and ki ho'alu (slack key guitar). Keali`i ReichelKeali`i Reichel perpetuates the culture and language of Hawai'i with his music and hula. He was one of the founding directors for Punana Leo O Maui (a Hawaiian Language immersion school) and has taught Hawaiian culture and language and Maui Community College. Keali'i was also the Cultural Resource Specialist and Curator at the Bailey House Museum in Wailuku. Click here to request speaker
